Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic Location Dentistry for Kids City Kennewick Employment duration: Full time Exempt Status: Non-exempt The Dental Hygienist's primary duties are to provide periodontal treatment to patients and to increase the efficiency of the clinic by performing expanded duties (as allowable by law and as directed by the dentists). This position also provides you the opportunity to assist in dental health projects within the community. Qualifications Education : Graduation from a Dental Hygiene school. Experience : Supervisory experience preferred. Experience in expanded functions required. Licenses/Certificates/Registration : Current WA State dental hygiene license. Current CPR Certification within 3 months of employment. CDHC Certification preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required : KNOWLEDGE: Established hygiene concepts; medical/emergency procedures. SKILLS: Effectively manage patient fears and apprehensions; considerable dexterity and coordination; complete understanding of and skilled in delivering dental anesthetic and placing restorations; basic computer skill and knowledge. ABILITIES: Communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including children, as well as clinic staff; work well with others. Bilingual (English/Spanish) language skill preferred.
