There is one Budget Director position open with the Yakima County Financial Services Department.
The Budget Director is responsible for the development of the County’s annual budget and associated fiscal policies, processes and procedures. The incumbent will provide advice to the BOCC and other county officials and department heads on financial issues affecting county operations as an employer. The Budget Director is a select member of the following committees/teams within the County, chosen to provide sound budget policy and management advice for the effective operations of the overall County. Committees/teams are as follows: Information Technology Committee (ITC); Financial Accounting and Reporting Team; Workday Executive Team; Audit Committee.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, Public Policy / Management, Governmental accounting experience
- Budgetary experience in a leadership role in local, state or federal government
- Experience in Washington State Budgeting and familiarity with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Pronouncements; Office of Management and Budget (OMB) 2 CFR part 200, subpart F; Governmental Auditing Standards (Yellow Book); Revised Code of Washington (RCW’s); Washington Administrative Code (WAC’s); Federal Payroll and Accounts Payable Regulations (Internal Revenue Code Publications); Washington State Budgeting, Accounting and Reports System (BARS)
