Human Resource Services at Washington State University is expanding and seeking motivated HR Assistants to join our dedicated team of HR Professionals! Current vacancies include:
- HRCA 1 or 2: Employee Relations Unit. Pullman Based - Will perform duties in support of Human Resource Services to apply established human resource guidelines, rules, policies and procedures to WSU employees/personnel records.
- HRCA 1 or 2: Classification Compensation Unit. Pullman or Spokane or Tri-Cities Based - Under general supervision, perform a variety of duties in support of Human Resource Services in the Compensation unit. Apply established human resource guidelines, rules, policies and procedures to classified, exempt and/or academic staff. Review, develop and maintain accurate records and correspondence. Assist clients, maintain electronic and paper files, produce reports, gather and organize documentation, and coordinate schedules
These permanent and benefit eligible positions are primarily based on the Pullman campus; however, hybrid schedule options may be available for finalists within the Inland Northwest to report Pullman campus.
Required Qualifications:
- Three years of office experience including at least six months of experience in a human resource or related setting OR equivalent education/experience.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Ability to analyze data and identify discrepancies.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to details skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in Human Resources department
- Experience providing clerical – administrative support to multiple individuals
- Experience with Excel (pivot tables, power query, complex formulas)
- Proven ability to perform a variety of tasks at one time, with frequent interruptions.

Monthly Salary:
HRCA 1 - Range 36, $2,957 - $3,821 (Step A through L)
HRCA 2 - Range 42, $3,401 - $4,425 (Step A through L)
Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

This is a permanent position.
