The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking applications for a Talent Acquisition Consultant for the Human Resources department. This is a full-time, permanent staff position.
Purpose of the Position: This position serves as a Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant for all matters associated with recruitment, applicant review/referral/selection, and hiring proposal review/approval processes and procedures for SHRA, EHRA Staff, and Temporary Staff employees. Serves as a lead/mentor for other employment consultants.
Salary: $59,843 - $63,000
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a four-year college or university and three years of progressively responsible experience analyzing, interpreting, applying, communicating, and promoting HR best practices in the context of organizational goals and objectives; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.
Essential Job Duties: Assisting supervisors/applicants with applicant tracking system navigation. Advising managers on preparing EEO compliant and accurate vacancy notices—cultivating recruitment strategies with hiring managers to attract suitable candidates and hire the most qualified. Editing and reviewing job postings and ad copy for grammatical and content errors. Screening SHRA applicant pools for the ‘most qualified’ candidates. Coaching hiring managers on reviewing their applicant pools, developing appropriate interview questions, and helping create work samples. Reviewing recommendations for hire, working with hiring officials to resolve non-compliance issues before approval, negotiating appropriate starting salaries, initiating criminal background checks, and assisting new hires with onboarding. Communicating with supervisors to explain University and state policies and procedures for recruitment. Including federal and state laws related to recruitment.
Preferred Qualifications: Recruitment experience with a college/university or other governmental agency. The ability to interpret and apply Federal and State guidelines is necessary, combined with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. Must have the ability to apply critical thinking and have strong problem-solving skills. Being able to work efficiently, effectively, and independently in a deadline-oriented work environment is also necessary. HR Certification desired PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
