JOB SUMMARY

The School of Business is seeking a full-time Associate Director of National Recruitment for its MS Programs. The incumbent will report to the Executive Director of MS Programs and will develop an overarching recruitment strategy as well as lead regional and national recruitment efforts for School of Business Specialized Master’s programs with a primary focus on Business Analytics and Project Management, Financial Risk Management, and Financial Technology. This role will also serve as a liaison to the School of Business Marketing/Communications (Mar/Comm) team for marketing needs. The position is based in Stamford with the expectation of travel to the Graduate Business Learning Center in Hartford. Occasional in-state and out-of-state travel as well as evenings and weekends will be required in support of program needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include but are not limited to:

  • Developing overall recruitment strategy for the programs in conjunction with the international recruitment manager including, but not limited to, virtual info-sessions, workshops, corporate outreach, and industry conferences; and developing creative means of reaching target audiences.
  • Leading and executing regional/national recruitment efforts in an effort to achieve enrollment goals.
  • Serving as a liaison to Mar/Comm and CETL for strategic regional/national marketing and top-of-funnel initiatives. Creating, preparing, and updating promotional materials for recruitment, info sessions, event promotions, company visits, and university visits.
  • Supervising employees responsible for supporting the recruitment and admissions processes for specialized master’s programs and their related accelerated and certificate programs. These roles oversee the application through the entire process, prepare the application for committee review, and participate in admissions decisions.
  • Handling performance evaluations for employees, providing regular feedback, and participating in hiring decisions.
  • Centralizing inquiries and the admission process with the admissions team; working closely with the admissions committee for admission decisions and scholarship decision-making.
  • Managing the application and admissions data for MS in FinTech, BAPM, and FRM and communicating information to key stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and managing social media platforms and utilizing them to promote MS programs. Serving as the webmaster for FinTech, FRM, and BAPM with Mar/Comm.
  • Developing relationships with, identifying, and managing program alumni who support on-the-ground regional/national recruitment efforts.
  • Investigating and researching trends, competitors, political and economic situations in the U.S., and exploring opportunities for increasing recruitment pool through different channels; executing appropriate recruitment strategies.
  • Initiating and conducting market research in targeted areas, exploring opportunities, and developing regional/national recruitment strategies. 
  • Serving as a liaison and first point of contact between prospective regional/national students, educational agents, parents, and organizations. Provides training to education counselors to introduce our programs and encourage their students to apply.
  • Performing outreach and collaborating with top universities to establish stable and ongoing relationships in support of recruiting undergraduates and alumni into the programs.
  • Maintaining a database of regional/national contacts who aid in recruitment efforts.
  • Representing MS programs at conferences and events; serving as a liaison to University offices and departments, as well as to external agencies.
  • Supporting student and faculty services events and activities as needed and assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of related work experience. One year of experience must be serving as an advanced team member.
  • Demonstrated excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with School of Business and University staff, as well as applicants, students, faculty, and external constituents.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully recruiting students including the ability to plan, organize and execute recruiting events.
  • Demonstrated experience handling admissions processes and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle administrative tasks and creatively resolve problems efficiently, effectively, and independently.
  • Dependable transportation and willingness and ability to work nights and weekends and travel in-state and out-of-state on occasion in support of program activities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience working in a higher education environment in a university setting.
  • Proven experience working with diverse student groups, programs, or constituents.
  • Supervisory experience.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time position based in Stamford, CT. Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
