The Department of Human Resources at Upstate is looking for a Director of Talent Acquisition to join their team of expert professionals in a challenging and rewarding career within a complex unionized academic medical center environment.
The Director of Talent Acquisition is responsible for sourcing and recruitment strategies for SUNY Upstate Medical University, overseeing the recruitment lifecycle process from initiation through offer and first stage on-boarding. Working with recruitment and on-boarding staff, the Director will: Design and implement an organizational progressive recruiting strategy and actively recruit diverse, qualified candidates for openings in a wide range of roles. Recommend solutions to streamline processes and improve recruiting and on-boarding effectiveness, implement programs that enhance the candidate experience, improve services, and improve the quality of hire. Devise and implement creative sourcing strategies to build pipelines of potential applicants, including professional networking, social media, job boards, direct sourcing, databases, etc. Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and a customized recruiting approach. Ensure all pre-employment activities are completed in an efficient manner, including offers of employment, criminal background checks, drug testing, education credential review and I-9 documentation. Oversee policies and procedures related to the recruitment and employment function.
