Water Quality Technician
The Sunnyside Valley Irrigation District (SVID), seeks a Water Quality Technician. The
individual should value working in the field collecting water samples in the morning and
performing chemical and biological testing of the samples in the afternoon on the same
day. Routine operation and maintenance of field sampling and laboratory equipment are
required. The candidate will sample year-round by wading in district waterways and may
be exposed to inclement weather. Individual is required to lift 50 lbs. of weight.
Desirable skills include: Working in a laboratory setting; data analysis, charting, and
management in Microsoft Office programs (Access, Excel, and PowerPoint); strong field
observational skills; detail-oriented, and ability to work independently. A minimum of
an AA degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science, geology, natural resources,
or other scientific field of study is preferred but not required. Relevant work experience
may be substituted for education.
Wage: $50,000 to 52,000 per year DOQ. Benefit
