Associate Director of Financial Aid
Position Summary
The Financial Aid Office at St. Catherine University invites applications for an Associate Director of Financial Aid.
Based in the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota, St. Kate's is home to a diverse group of nearly 5,000 students in a wide array of disciplines and degree levels. The Financial Aid Office administers in excess of $100 million in student financial aid annually from federal, state, institutional, and private sources. Our team collaborates with students to ensure they understand their options, choices and commitments. The Associate Director of Financial Aid will join a team with long-standing dedication to St. Catherine University.
The Associate Director of Financial Aid is a key leadership position within the Financial Aid Office, managing daily customer service operations, and coordinating activities to meet administrative financial aid needs of our students.
Responsibilities:
• Manage administration of financial aid from federal, state, institutional, and private funding sources, and counseling for students and families on application procedures, award program criteria, financial aid policy & regulations and aid options to meet educational expenses.
• Coordinate information sharing between key student service offices, financial aid staff, and students.
• Respond to external inquiries, manage appeals, resolve complex awarding or counseling situations, and assist staff to manage peak contact demands or difficult customer service situations as necessary.
• Supervise and determine work priorities for professional, support, and student staff as well as identify staff training and resource needs.
• Provide back up and oversight for loan, outside scholarship, and other program management for direct reports.
• Provide training, regulatory guidance, and clarification on financial aid rules and regulations to team members
• Establish goals, evaluate performance, and provide feedback to ensure professional development, staff success, and achievement of department, division, and University goals.
• Provide leadership for complex problem resolution to office staff.
• Coordinate with Director to schedule leadership team and staff meetings, NASFAA webinars, and other training activities.
• Coordinate verification and financial aid packaging and revision as well as monitor tracking, packaging, loan processing to ensure timely aid administration and delivery.

Required Qualifications
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience managing direct reports
• Proficiency with mainframe and PC applications such as Microsoft Word, EXCEL , PowerPoint, and web based applications.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid policies and regulations
AND Either
• 5 years of progressively more responsible financial aid experience
OR
• Equivalent combination of an advanced degree with three years of progressive financial aid experience
