Second Harvest seeks staff member to join the Pasco distribution center team to oversee the coordination, implementation and evaluation of the SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) Education program. This includes developing community partnerships around nutrition education and managing programs and volunteers to implement all policy, system and environmental (PSE) change initiatives relating to healthy eating and active living models among the limited-resource population in six surrounding counties. Duties include teaching direct and indirect education for adults and youth in a diverse population and continual monitoring, updating, and evaluating of curriculum's effectiveness within USDA FNS (Food and Nutrition Service) requirements. Success in this role requires cultural sensitivity, strong organizational skills, high-level communication, database management, independent thinking, creativity and discretion. A background in nutrition education, project management or early learning is helpful. A minimum of one year of experience in a related field is required. Bachelor degree and bi-lingual (Spanish) is preferred. Individual must have valid driver's license. This position is part of Second Harvest's annual contract for SNAP-Ed funded by the USDA FNS SNAP-Ed program. This is a part-time position (29 hours per week) expected to end on 9/30/2020. Renewal dependent on satisfactory performance, the need for extension to complete the project and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
