Approximate Monthly Salary: $10,078.08 - $11,111.64
There is an additional 3.35% Management Differential which is added to the posted salary for this class.
DESCRIPTION
The Waste Management Superintendent is a management level class which, under direction, has the responsibility for the planning, administrative operation, and the progress of the day-to-day programs for the Operations Section of the Waste Management and Recycling Department in the Public Works and Infrastructure Agency. The class provides input for long-term administration, planning, budget projection and monitoring. The incumbent is responsible for assisting in the preparation and control of the Operation Section budget.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Either: Five years of full-time managerial experience in solid waste operations activities involving the development and supervision of operational programs, policies and procedures, budget preparation, and contract administration.
AND
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in environmental planning and management; environmental studies; environmental, civil, safety or industrial engineering; solid waste planning; the physical sciences; business administration; public administration; human resources management; or other closely related field.
Or: Three years full-time experience in the class of Waste Management Operations Manager in Sacramento County service.
AND
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in environmental planning and management; environmental studies; environmental, civil, safety or industrial engineering; solid waste planning; the physical sciences; business administration, public administration; human resources management; or other closely related field.
Note: Additional qualifying full-time experience as a manager in solid waste operations activities involving the development and supervision of operational programs, policies and procedures, budget preparation, and contract administration may be substituted for the education requirement identified above on a one for one basis (one year of experience equals one year of education).
