Prosser Chamber of Commerce Executive Director (Full Time Exempt Position)Job DescriptionResumes and Cover Letters accepted through 10/31/2018Position Summary:The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Prosser Chamber of Commerce and promoting the Mission and Vision of the organization. The Executive Director is the public face of the Prosser Chamber of Commerce and must at all times represent the organization in a professional and ethical manner. This position is responsible for membership retention and growth, tourism marketing and advertising, coordinating large annual events, administration of chamber activities and board of directors, and partnering with other organizations in the community. Resulting in a thriving, diversified business community and premier visitor destination.Responsibilities Include:- Implementing systems and practices for all administrative functions of the Chamber, including accounting, membership processing, and coordinating meetings and activities of the Board of Directors.- Supervising part time office staff.- Coordinating and growing volunteers to support various Chamber activities.- Writing communications including social media posts, press releases, and internal communications.- Outreach with existing and potential new Chamber members. Developing ways to encourage membership growth and retention.- Representing the Chamber to the public, including making formal and informal presentations to various groups.- Coordinating annual events, including but not limited to: Annual Awards Banquet (fundraising event), Easter Egg Hunt, Prosser Scottish Fest, Art Walk and Wine Gala, States Day Parade and Celebration, Veterans Day Parade, Beer and Whiskey Festival, and Family Christmas Festival.- Working with other groups in the community to support their events.- Coordinate annual marketing efforts to promote Prosser as a tourism destination. Placing ads, overseeing graphic design, and fulfilling contracts.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to present a calm, professional demeanor at all times and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and by email.- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and general accounting practices.- Experience coordinating large events, from concept to implementation.- Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading, and public speaking.- Ability to act independently and exercise sound judgement.- Attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.- Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments that require assistance from a variety of organizations and volunteers.- Ability to motivate and work effectively with groups and individuals.- Experience in marketing, managing social media platforms, and managing web content.- Experience working for a nonprofit for a Board of Directors.- Proficient in MS Office.- Ability to provide references upon request
