Commercial Carpenter
Franjo construction requires 7 temporary, full-time commercial carpenters from 04/01/2019 to 10/31/2019. Perform maintenance, repairs, applications and installations associated with company commercial construction projects. Perform construction, alteration or modification, repair of and replacement of such items and structure as framework, doors, windows, screens, paneling, interior and exterior trim, as well as the installation of wood and steel joists. Operate woodworking equipment and hand tools. Utilize knowledge of GWB assemblies for code compliant installations. Hang drywall and metal studs and perform light finishing of GWB assemblies. Construct interior building partitions under the direction of the carpenter foreman and or superintendent. Perform window, door and hardware installations and minor roof repairs. Perform demolition work on project site. Erect scaffolding systems for daily construction activities. Perform finish carpentry work such as molding, trim work, casework etc. Install act grid, tile and associated trims. Maintain production quantities as outlined by the project schedule. Respond in an expeditious and timely manner to all work requests regarding carpentry expertise. Assist in loading and unloading building material. Provide input on jobsite logistics, organization, layout, equipment and manpower utilization. Clean project site and maintain order with all tools and equipment. Operate equipment such as man-lifts, scissor lifts safely and as needed to perform daily activities. Utilize knowledge of foundations of structures for concrete pours. Construct and form grade beams, slab on grade, columns and panels, edge forms for concrete pours. Mold, shape or form wood or plastic forms to pour concrete. Perform clean-up procedures. Adhere to comprehensive project safety and security programs as defined in the company safety program in accordance with all applicable safety codes and regulations. Meet with safety director and complete mandatory Franjo construction safety training prior to start of employment.
Requirements: Position requires 3 years of experience as a commercial carpenter on commercial projects. Must have industry related knowledge of commonly used commercial carpentry tools and methods. Must have knowledge of GWB assemblies for code compliant installations and have knowledge of foundations of structures for concrete pours. Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test screening. These tests will be administered to all applicants, us and foreign national workers, alike. Any employee who does not pass these tests will be terminated or placed on probation. Random drug tests also administered throughout employment term.
Board/lodging: Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck as required by law. Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Transportation will be provided to and from worksite, as needed.
