Magazine Advertising Media Consultant
Selling advertising space into the magazine and specialty publications produced by the Tri-City Herald.
Primary responsibilities and activities -
Achieve monthly and quarterly sales goals set by sales manager
Increase advertising revenue in quarterly magazines; Living TC, Healthy Living, Wine Press Northwest through direct sales
Sell advertising space in other special publications such as HBA Resource Directory, Parade of Homes magazine, etc.
- Ability to effectively sell digital advertising campaigns
- Maintain consistent contact with assigned active and non-active accounts, primarily in-person, as well as via phone and/or email
- Work effectively within the magazine team to grow and champion our products
- Keep informed and educated about new internet and printed marketing opportunities offered by the Tri-City Herald
- Communicate directly, frequently and efficiently to sales manager regarding the status and trends with current, new and potential accounts
- Adhere to all advertising deadlines
- Maintain current information on all accounts
- Monitor credits and collections and follow credit policy and procedure
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service (internal and external)
- Maintain professional image and conduct
- Take responsibility for completing assigned tasks and demonstrate the ability to exceed company standards
- Maintain safe work habits
- Suggest and initiate new ideas for improved performance
Required Skills -
Excellent sales consulting and customer service skills
Basic understanding of marketing principles
Salesforce software
Ability to up sell and create long-term advertising campaigns for clients
Organizational skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Gmail
Familiarity and comfort in using common internet tools for presentations
Self-starter with the ability to provide innovative advertising solutions
We are seeking an experienced hunter/prospector sales professional who loves the consultative sales process and who can hit the ground running. You must have a good driving record and vehicle insurance.
