GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to receive and process public and in-house requests for information or actions that are received through LFUCG’s call center.
This classification works under close supervision according to set procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school, GED, or specialized vocational training; and, a minimum of two (2) years of experience providing customer service in a call center or other centralized customer service environment; or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Receives and responds to phone and electronic inquiries from external and internal customers.
Documents customer contact and generates service request if needed.
Performs research to stay up-to-date and relay government policies, procedures, community news and events.
Attends internal and external meetings, trainings, and presentations
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Some positions must be fluent in speaking and writing both English and Spanish.
May be required to take a pass/fail test.
Must be available for call-back and on-call duty or flexible work hours, as required, and the ability to work weekends and holidays, as assigned or during emergencies.
In the case of inclement weather, positions within the Division of Government Communications, via LexCall (311) will be available for twenty-four (24) hours a day and seven (7) days a week, for the public to get the latest information concerning city operations.
May be required to possess a valid driver’s license.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to operate and maintain two (2) or more pieces of power construction or other heavy equipment to excavate, move, and grade earth, erect structures, pour concrete or other hard surface pavement, and/or to clean and maintain the constructed environment; may supervise and train work crews.
This classification works under close to general supervision according to set procedures, but determines how or when to complete tasks
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school, GED, or specialized vocational training; and, a minimum of four (4) years of experience operating heavy equipment; or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Requires a Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) - Class B (Allows you to operate single vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 lbs or more OR a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 lbs. or more, towing trailers/vehicles rated at 10,000 pounds GVWR or less. A Class "B" license also allows you to operate Class C vehicles) with Endorsement N - Tank Vehicles (For vehicles designed to haul liquids or liquefied gases in bulk in permanently mounted tanks or portable tanks rated at 1,000 gallons or more.) and a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner’s Certificate in order to qualify and must be maintained as a condition of employment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operates equipment related to area of assignment - bucket truck and paint striper machine experience preferred.
Inspects equipment for proper operating condition and makes minor repairs, as needed.
Coordinates major repairs and preventative maintenance with fleet services.
Performs routine clerical duties such as completing route sheets, notices, service requests and other forms as necessary.
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Requires a Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) - Class B
EXAMINATION

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to perform advanced level professional duties of considerable difficulty in managing a major program that is essential to the mission of an operations division within the Department of Environmental Quality & Public Works.
This classification works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies, and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor degree related to the area of assignment; and, a minimum of six (6) years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Plans, directs, organizes, and provides oversight and supervision of program activities. Responsible for managing, tracking, analyzing and reporting program results and researching ideas for improvement to program.
*Supervises, trains and evaluates the work of subordinates.
*Represents the division and LFUCG at various internal and external meetings and assists with public functions and events.
*Maintains communication, responds to inquires from the Mayor’s office and council members, LFUCG employees, consultants and the public
Additional Duties:
- Develops and manages related grant programs, as needed.
- Prepares cost estimates, reviews proposals and develops and implements operational procedures, as needed.
- Performs related work as assigned.

Special Requirements:
- Must be able to operate Urban County Government equipment and vehicles in a safe, prudent and responsible manner.

The seasonal laborer will assist in providing curbside collection services and/or processing materials at the Materials Recovery Facility.
