Kingsbury General Improvement District Notice of Acceptance of Applications for Street Maintenance Technician I.
Kingsbury General Improvement District is now accepting applications for the position of Street Maintenance Technician I. This is a full-time, year round position with benefits including paid sick leave and vacation leave, medical insurance and a retirement plan. The successful applicant will have experience in pavement management and maintenance; maintaining drainage systems; and snow removal operations. The position requires operating various heavy equipment including a Vactor Truck, Loader, Backhoe, Dump Truck and Street Sweeper. Communications skills and the ability to interact with the public and coworkers with tact and judgment are essential. A Class A or B commercial driver's license with a good driving record is required. Air and Tanker endorsements are required within 6 months of employment. The first year of employment with the District is a probationary period.
Wage rates are: $16.33 during the first six months of employment (80% of the full wage rate) and $18.37 for the second six months of employment (90% of the full wage rate). After successfully completing the one-year probationary period the full wage rate of $20.41 will apply.
The Street Maintenance Technician I position is covered by the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between KGID and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 39, AFL-CIO, covering the period July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2022.
