Wheat Ranch Worker
Full time help wanted in performing all phases of dry land wheat farming. This is a drug and alcohol-free workplace. Applicant must have the ability to read, write and speak English and possession of a valid driver’s license is required. Dependability is a must (including transportation to and from work) to meet a year-round farm schedule of planting, harvesting, fertilizing, ground preparation and equipment maintenance. Tools and equipment are provided (no personal tools needed). The Farm is located south of Kennewick in the Horse Heaven hills area.
Selected individual must be motivated and be able to work in a small group or independently after being instructed on work to be performed. Experience preferred in farm equipment operation including tractors, pulling mower, sweeps, chisels/rippers, drills, bank out wagon, fertilizer injection. Operation of harvesting equipment, combine. Have skills and experience in farm equipment maintenance, repair, welding, fabrication, and troubleshooting both in a shop and field setting. Being physically fit and able to perform activities such as climbing ladders, shoveling, heavy lifting, and accessing all areas of equipment, (top, in and under equipment). Must be able to safely walk distances in all types of soil and weather conditions. Experience driving wheat trucks and water tank vehicle (commercial vehicles), but a CDL not required. Orientation or training on specific equipment models and of field conditions will be provided as needed. Position starting wage is $18.00. Veteran incentive available.
