Granger School District has an immediate opening for:

• School Safety Officer

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Under the direction of the Safety and Security Director, the School Safety Officer will assist in the coordination to develop, implement, and maintain an Emergency Management Plan for the Granger School District. The Safety Officer will assist with reviewing the building-level emergency response programs and coordination of school security staff. At the direction of the Safety and Security Director, the Safety Officer will collaborate with security staff, building administrators and staff to identify and recommend the necessary education and training through staff development to ensure the general welfare and safety of all students and staff. The Safety Officer will assist in monitoring the school crisis response programs in cooperation with the community and emergency service providers to ensure leading practices are implemented and followed. The Safety Officer will assist the Safety and Security Director to develop and implement security and safety training to all security personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in safety, criminal justice, related field, or an equivalent amount of experience in a related field preferred.

Obtain and maintain firearm certification.

Minimum of ten (10) years-experience in law enforcement preferred.
