Duties:Reporting to the Plant Manager 3, this position is responsible for the care and maintenance of Coyote Ridge Corrections Center. This position supervises employee and offender work crews to support the living conditions and the mission of the Department of Corrections by teaching offenders work ethic that will help them for re-entry into society. Tasks include:Repair of buildings and sub-structures, roads, pathways, walks, fences, painting, carpentry, roofing, and other trades in maintenance and repairs as well as large projects. Inspects buildings, fixtures and plumbing systems to determine need for maintenance, replacement or repair. Understand and use methods, materials, tools, and equipment in building and maintenance work. Demonstrate and enforce occupational hazards and safety precautions of building trades. Use all common hand and power tools associated with building trades. Work from blueprints and sketches. Keep time and records for an offender crew. Plan and supervise work of offenders. Use current CRCC procedures to hire and train offender workers as needed. Ensure that all safety and security procedures are followed. Make sure all tool and key accountability policies are adhered to. Schedule, direct, coordinate and supervise the Maintenance Mechanic 4. Assign and monitor Micro Main work orders. Evaluate and set expectations of the Maintenance Mechanic 4. Assist in developing projects to include ordering of materials, equipment and manpower needs. Maintain staff time sheet. Conduct three daily tool inventories, hourly count of assigned offender workers, one mid-day formal count of offender workers, contraband searches of shop and offender workers and strict key control. Emergent situations may arise that require this position to perform other unspecified tasks. These could include snow removal during inclement weather, a facility lockdown, or other unanticipated security situations. Other duties may be assigned by the Plant Manager.Qualifications:REQUIRED:High School Diploma or EquivalentCommercial or Residential Journeyman Plumbing License ***DESIRED:4 year Journeyman level experience in plumbing trade.Backflow Assembly Tester Certified or obtain within a year of employment.4 years Journey level work in commercial or industrial setting.4 years supervisory experience training, and evaluating a crew of 4-8, repair and installation of plumbing equipment and control systems.*** Please attach a copy of your plumbing license.
