A managerial level position responsible for management, guidance and oversight of the build-out of the Swift Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) network as identified in the Community Transit Long Range Transit Plan. Working closely with Executive Leadership team, Capital project managers, Grants team and consultants, develops strategy and path for implementing the Swift BRT network throughout Snohomish County. Works closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify, develop, and deliver critical infrastructure and high-capacity services to the citizens of Snohomish County. Coordinates with jurisdictional and regional partners to develop and achieve program goals. Maintains comprehensive understanding and management of overarching program – including sufficient detailed knowledge of individual projects and elements. Understands path from Feasibility Study to Design to Construction to Operations. Manages multiple projects simultaneously.
This position requires strategic thinking, exceptional communication and relationship building skills, negotiation and advocacy skills, and the ability to multi-task to deliver Program elements on scope, on schedule and within budget.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Transportation Planning, Engineering, Urban Planning or a closely related field.
- Three years of progressively responsible experience in transit, public works, transportation or land use planning.
- Three years of professional level project management or program management experience.
- Three years of experience organizing, presenting, facilitating and negotiating with diverse stakeholders and user groups.
- Two years of experience in transit planning or operations.
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above may be considered.
Preferred
- Public sector, planning or transit operations.
