JOB ANNOUNCEMENTASSISTANT COUNTY ENGINEERCOLUMBIA COUNTY PUBLIC WORKSColumbia County Public Works is seeking an Assistant County Engineer. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Services division within the Public Works Department. The engineering services division is responsible for the planning, design and construction of facility, road and bridge projects. Duties include applying detailed knowledge of engineering design and construction methods in performing the complex drafting and computation work for public works design, construction, and as-built inspections; assuring compliance with plans, specifications and applicable standards; and using computer drafting and surveying instruments. Applicants with experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D (or equivalent) are preferred. Wages range from $69,513.64 to $93,154.93 per year DOQ. The county offers a generous benefit package which includes paid vacation and sick leave, 11 paid holidays plus two floating holidays per year, $850 per month stipend for Medical, Vision and Dental insurance, Washington Public Employees Retirement Systems (PERS), and an HRA VEBA Account. Life Insurance, Disability Insurance and Deferred Compensation Plans are available.
