- Basic Function
- The Day Camp Counselor is responsible for assisting the site director to insure the smooth operation of that site's camp, which includes providing daily activities for children, ages 6-12. This position will work closely with the Day Camp Site Director to provide a well-rounded camp program during summer and school holidays. This position will require extensive contact with children and adult citizens. This employee is required to use their own judgment in regards to safety issues and planning activities. - *Assists with daily preparation and provision of a variety of activities for ages 6-12, including arts & crafts, sports, reading, field trips, games and other activities.*Provides snack time and lunch set-up and clean up.*Submits accurate payroll and other administrative tasks to Site Director as requested.*Sets up activities of all kinds during the day to ensure the best possible experience for the campers.*Ensures that campers are safe at all times and that safety measures are followed and that all children are accounted for on site and at field trips.

- ExperienceThis position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old. This employee must have First Aid and CPR training and must attend departmental training and orientation or acquire upon hire. Child care experience preferred.
