CITY OF BLAINE - JOURNEYMAN LINEMAN
Salary- Lineman: $7,581/mo. + benefits
Salary – Apprentice: DOQ
The Position: Applications are now being accepted for regular full-time work for a certified Lineman. The Lineman performs journey-level installation, maintenance, modification, troubleshooting and repair of the City electrical power distribution and lighting system. The Lineman position requires considerable knowledge of the electric utility’s equipment, facilities, layout and operations, and proficiency in the operation of any of the equipment used by the Department. The Lineman may occasionally direct assigned employees of equal of lower classification and apprentice(s) and work independently in the absence of a supervisor. Performs duties in accordance with sound safety practices to ensure personal safety and safety of others. The anticipated start date for this position is in October, 2018.
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent with at least two years of experience as a Journeyman Lineman or three years as a Utility Apprentice Lineman through Northwest Lineman College is required, as well as having a CDL Class A with Tankers (or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire).
Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the incumbent with the necessary qualifications may be considered.
