Public Works Utility Worker
The City of Benton City is seeking a Public Works Utility Worker or Public Works Utility Worker with Level 1 Waste Water Certification.
Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, a current WA St. Driver's License, valid Class A/B CDL, a current Pesticide Spray License for R.O.W applications, or ability to obtain within the first year and either have or will obtain Waste Water Certification Level 1 within two years.
A successful candidate must have knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in maintenance, construction and repair activities. Skilled in operation of backhoe, tools and equipment. Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods; work safely; communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public; to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. Be available for off-hour emergencies on a rotating basis. Applicants with current Waste Water certification or experience are preferred.
Probationary Wages for Maintenance/Utility Worker 1 (80%) is $18.51 per hour plus excellent benefits.
Probationary Wages for Maintenance/Utility Worker 1 with Waste Water Certification (80%) is $20.86 per hour plus excellent benefits.
