Responsibilities
- Provides customer service by resolving problems in response to customer reported issues and incidents.
- Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains hardware and software.
- Serves as a network manager with the primary responsibility for continued operation of network, integration of all systems across the network, and upgrade of the network to accommodate new technological innovations.
- Serves as the Information Technology Security Specialist with responsibility for virus control.
- Ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems, security programs, policies, procedures and tools.

TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree -OR- 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree -OR- 1 year of Specialized Experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal service.
EDUCATION:
Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

DEFINITION OF SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
To meet specialized experience, your resume must describe experience that demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities as follows:
GS-11: Experience providing advanced PC customer support to users to include technical support, troubleshooting, recovering, installing, testing, and configuring of hardware and software systems. Experience mitigating security vulnerabilities and risks.
Education
