Journeyman Meterman
Benton PUD is accepting applications for Journeyman Meterman in our Kennewick, WA location. The primary purpose of this position is to install, test, program and maintain metering instruments, controls, relays, and associated equipment, and troubleshoot related problems. The position requires completion of an apprenticeship program, Journeyman Certification and experience working in a meter shop. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Satisfactory completion of an approved apprenticeship program for electrical utility metering
- 2 years experience in an electrical utility meter shop
- Journeyman certification in Meterman craft
- Must possess and maintain a Washington State driver's license
- Flagging/traffic control certifications and valid First Aid and CPR certification cards or obtain within 12 months of hire
- Primary residence within 20 miles of Headquarters
- Intermediate computer skills or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) as adopted by the State of Washington
- Knowledge of District's customer service billing system or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
