Safety Assistant

This is an entry to mid-level position. The right candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability
to work independently, and a strong work ethic. This position requires an equal amount of time in an office and
in the field assisting with the development, communication, implementation, monitoring and auditing of Health
and Safety programs. This position reports directly to AEI Safety and Health Manager.

Job Responsibilities
*Coordinate safety committees
*Construction Safety
*Assist with executing our safety strategy and zero accident culture on the project(s)
*Monitoring daily construction activities for compliance with OSHA and company rules/policies
*Implement the project’s safety program
*Prepare and maintain records concerning occupational injuries and illnesses.
*Investigate employee complaints concerning unsafe working conditions.
*Audit and maintain safety records

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED. Possess current valid driver license is required. Professional Certification in
Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST) and/or Construction Health and Safety Technician
Minimum of 2 year’s construction or similar industry experience.

Desired Qualifications
*Working knowledge of OSHA 1910 General Industry and 1926 Construction Industry Standards
*Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field
*Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees at all
levels in a construction environment
*Candidate must also be proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
