Applications are now being accepted for the position of Planning & Programming Supervisor (P&P) in the Planning & Project Management Division. Starting Wage $71,053 - $85,259 per year/ DOQ plus excellent benefits!
Primary Responsibilities: • The P&P Supervisor is responsible for supervising the activities of the Sr. Transportation Planners, Transportation Planners, Modeling, and Student Intern positions. The work involves coordinating all project identification and development plans, Integrated Five Year Work Program (IFWYP), scoping and annual metric reporting. Acts as a liaison to one of ACHD’s city partners and/or urban renewal agencies. Serves as coordinator for ACHD’s bike and pedestrian programs, including facilitation of the Bike Advisory Committee and Pedestrian Advisory Group and development and review of associated policies.
Qualifications: • Must have proven ability to facilitate constructive dialogue related to complex policy and planning issues. Must have knowledge of: Planning methodologies, specifically long and short range transportation planning; Federal, state and local government structures and federal aid programming; Roadway projects including technical aspects, planning, budgeting, construction and scheduling; Engineering principles and practices; Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Technical writing methods; ACHD Policy Manual; Land use planning, and presentation skills. • Proven history in motivating others, collaborative decision-making processes, and evaluating others work. Must have a documented history in a variety of leadership roles and responsibilities. • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ArcMap is a must. Knowledge of Microsoft Projects and Adobe Design products is a plus. • Must be able to work some nights as required by liaison duties and public information meetings. • A Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Public Administration or a related field is preferred. Experience in a progressively responsible capacity in public administration, preferably in an independent agency comparable to the District and AICP is preferred. • OR an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be acceptable.
